Perfectly Poached Eggs

If you're a breakfast or brunch lover and you like eggs, you've probably had poached eggs - eggs benedict or avocado toast - yum! I've got a super easy way to make a poached egg at home - the secret is vinegar.

Here's how to do it:

Ingredients

  • Eggs

  • 1 TSP salt

  • 2 TSP white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Fill a sauce pan with several inches of water and add the salt and vinegar.

  2. Bring the water to a boil then lower the heat until it's simmering

  3. Carefully crack each egg into a mesh strainer and let the thinner whites drip out (don't let them all drip out)

  4. Immediately and carefully place the egg into the simmering water and stir the water around the egg to create a vortex. Use a spoon to push some of the egg whites closer to the yolk.

  5. Turn off the heat, cover the pan and let it sit for 4 minutes. If you're cooking more than one egg, you may need to cook them longer. The whites should be completely cooked and the yolk should be buttery and runny!

  6. Remove the eggs carefully with a slotted spoon and enjoy!

Did you make it? Post a pic in the comments!
