This isn't any ordinary cheese sauce, trust me. You'll want to put this garlic parmesan sauce on everything! Pasta, lasagna, pizza, chicken (wings!)... seriously, everything! It's creamy, cheesy, garlicky and so full of flavor. I'd go so far as to call it epic. I used it with pasta roses (that recipe is coming soon!) and everyone literally licked their plates to get every drop of the sauce. And depending on what you're using it for, or if you just want more - because you will - you can double the recipe.
Here's how to make it:
Ingredients
1/4 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 TBS all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 TSP dried thyme
1/2 TSP dried basil
1/3 cup heavy cream (you may need a little more to thin out the sauce to your liking)
1 cup grated Parmesan
Kosher salt and ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Melt the butter in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.
Add the garlic and cook, stirring frequently for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Whisk in the flour until the mixture is smooth and lightly browned, about 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, thyme and basil, whisking constantly for about 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan until the mixture is slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes. If the mixture is too thick, add more heavy cream, about 1 TBS at a time, until the consistency is to your liking.
Season with salt and pepper, to taste and enjoy!
