Strawberries & Cream Dump Cake

OK. Let's address the elephant in the room. Dump cake doesn't sound very appealing. I get it. But it's a thing, and it's a delicious thing. The term "dump" comes from the fact that you're basically dumping a bunch of ingredients into a pan and the result is the ultimate guilty, cheat-day treat. I tried it out myself, and it's truly amazing, and SO easy! I love strawberries and cream anything so I wanted use it for this cake. It is perfection a pan. Add some french vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries and YUM! It's sweet, sticky, ooey and gooey. You'll love it.

Here's how to make it:

Ingredients (for a 9x13 baking pan)

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix

  • 1 container marshmallow creme (I used a 16 oz container)

  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 package golden Oreos

  • 1 1/2 sticks butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F and grease a 9x13 baking pan (I like to use baking spray).

  2. Place a layer of Oreos on the bottom of the pan to cover the pan completely (you may not need the entire package).

  3. Evenly pour the condensed milk over the cookies.

  4. Carefully spread the marshmallow creme over the cookies with a rubber/silicone spatula (you may need to use your fingers, but that's ok - you can lick them off after!).

  5. DUMP the cake mix over the cookies/marshmallow and make sure it's evenly spread. DO NOT MIX IT.

  6. Slice the butter and layer evenly over the cake mix.

  7. Put the pan in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.

  8. Once done (it will have a beautiful bubble) let it cool, then serve with ice cream and fresh, chopped strawberries! Check out my hack to easily hull the strawberries.
