Crescent Roll Christmas Tree Pull-Aparts (cheesy garlic - 2 Ways!)

If you're looking for an easy, delicious and fun side dish for Christmas, here ya go! You can do this 2 ways (or more, post your ideas in the comments below!) - with a garlicky cream cheesy filling or melty mozzarella and buttery garlic. Either way - this is sure to be a hit, and it's super easy to make.

If you want to use the same idea for other holidays or occasions, get creative! How about a football for Superbowl or a pumpkin for Halloween?

Here's how to make it:

Ingredients

Note: If you want a smaller batch, use one can of crescent rolls and cut the filling (and butter/garlic/parsley) ingredients in half.

  • 2 cans refrigerated Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls

  • 2 TBS melted salted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, freshly minced (for topping, with butter)

  • 2 TBS finely chopped fresh parsley

Filling #1:

  • 2 5.5 oz packages of Boursin garlic & herb cheese

Filling #2

  • 8 sticks string cheese (mozzarella) - hello cheese pull!

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.

  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Separate the dough into 16 triangles. Using a pastry cutter or knife, cut each triangle in half lengthwise.

  4. Add filling: Spoon about 1 TSP of the Boursin cheese on the shortest side of each triangle. If using string cheese, cut into about 1 1/2-2" pieces and place on triangle.

  5. Roll up each triangle, starting at the shortest side of triangle and rolling to opposite point. Using the above photo as a guide, place the crescents next to each other in tree-shaped pattern on your lined baking sheet,.

  6. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown (check on them at 20 minutes).

  7. Mix together the butter, garlic, and parsley.

  8. Remove the crescent tree from the oven and brush each roll with the garlic butter.

  9. Gently transfer the crescent roll Christmas tree to a platter, lift it up while still attached to the parchment paper, and place it on your platter. Run a large, flat spatula underneath the tree on all sides, then lift parchment paper on one side and carefully slide it onto the platter. Enjoy!
