Cheesy Pizza Rolls

Traditional pizza is so passé. OK not really, but I recently discovered pizza rolls and it changes everything. I think this is my new favorite way to eat pizza. And it's much fancier looking, so if you want to impress someone that loves pizza, then this is the recipe for you. You can make them in a cast iron skillet or a muffin tin and they're so easy. And delicious, trust me, your family will beg you to make these often!

Here's how to make them:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough (use my easy pizza dough recipe or you can use frozen/store-bought dough)

  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (I recommend my sauce but store-bought will work)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Toppings: use whatever you like! Pepperoni, sausage, veggies - do it up!

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400° F.

  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a 16"x10" rectangle (I like to use a silicone baking mat that has measurements - makes it easy!)

  3. Brush the marinara sauce onto the dough within 1/2 of the edges.

  4. Add the mozzarella cheese and your toppings.

  5. Sprinkle with italian seasoning (or basil if you don't have italian seasoning).

  6. Roll it up jelly-roll style on the long side and pinch to seal the ends.

  7. Using a sharp knife, cut it into 8 even pieces

  8. Carefully place the rolls into a lightly greased cast iron skillet or muffin tin.

  9. Bake for 20 minutes and let cool.

  10. Add grated parmesan cheese then enjoy!
